The center console (100) has a fastening dome (104) which is formed for fixing the center console at a motor vehicle base (102) by a fastening unit. The fastening dome has an elastic element with a connecting link (110) for receiving the fastening unit. The connecting link is elastically movable in X- and Z-directions of the motor vehicle relative to the center console. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a center console at a motor vehicle.
