The body (10) has an exterior wall (11), an inner wall (12), and gripper pads (14) formed at a lateral section. The exterior wall and the inner wall merge in a middle section (19) to a wall (15), where the body has a U-shaped cross section and designed as a fiber reinforced hollow component made of plastic. The exterior wall and the inner wall includes a cavity (16) to a side of the middle section neighboring to the gripper pads and another cavity (17) to another side of the middle section facing the gripper pads, where the body is manufactured by a pultrusion method. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a gripper body.
