The lamp (1) has light sources i.e. LEDs, provided with predetermined characteristics of emitted wavelengths. The wavelengths of the light sources lie at a spectral range between 300 nanometers and 850 nanometers. The light sources emit light with color temperature within a range of 1000 Kelvin to 10000 Kelvin. Selection of the color temperature of the light sources is based on a biological system (2) to be illuminated. The lamp is adapted to the biological system based on size, luminosity and flash spectrum. The sources are attached on a printed circuit board. An independent claim is also included for a method for creating a spectrum of electromagnetic radiation for illuminating biological systems.
