The device has a hand-operated direction control valve (3) i.e. 4/3 control valve, for controlling of lifting and lowering of a lift pole (H), and a control piston coupled with a path sensor (4). The valve has a controllable connector (10) for connecting a pump (P) and the lift pole, where the valve is coupled with the path sensor over the piston. A proportion throttle (1) is controlled by a control unit (5). A connection between the pump and the lift pole or connection between a load tap (12) of a load sensor (13) and the pump exists in a lifting position of the lift pole.
