The method involves inserting groundwater monitoring unit in 2 inches in liquid sample i.e. water, where insertion of the unit is limited in terms of water depth. Sample volumes are freely selectable by choice of a sample reservoir and a control module. Change in sample constituents or concentration is avoided by using a closed sample containers filled with inert gas. An intake valve (2) and a sample reservoir (4) are provided in an extraction module, and the reservoir is filled and emptied by the punches, which are electrically controlled. An independent claim is also included for a device for removal of liquid samples from natural compartments of natural aquatic system.
