The controller has an evaluation logic for detecting an accident of a motor vehicle based on signals supplied by the sensor device and interrupts an electrical line connection when the accident is detected. The sensor device is rigidly connected with a high voltage component (10) to detect and measure movements of the component, and the evaluation logic detects one of the movements as the accident based on the signals supplied by the sensor device.
