The conveyor (1) has rollers (3) arranged along the conveying path, where rotating axis (2) of the rollers is arranged transverse to the conveying path, where surface areas (5) of the rollers are provided with varying coefficients of friction (Rk, Rk1, Rk2) along the rotating axis. Materials (4) to be conveyed are directly transported by the rollers, and coefficients of friction at edge areas (6, 7) of the rollers are higher than at a central portion (8) of the rollers. The coefficients of friction are adjusted by a surface area patterning of the rollers.
