The unit has an axial piston combustion engine (A) with a set of cabinet-fixed cylinders (GZ) arranged on a common pitch circle. An axial piston pump (P) is driven by a rotor assembly (R) of the combustion engine for propulsion of a hydraulic restrictor motor (M). The piston pump and the restrictor motor are partly arranged within dimensions of the combustion engine and the restrictor motor is connected with a driven shaft (WA) of the unit. The piston pump and/or the restrictor motor are designed as a reciprocating engine i.e. axial reciprocating engine of swashplate design.
