The control/supply unit (1) has a cassette (5) with an aspiration chamber (6), and a hose for conveying liquid from a handset unit (2) to the aspiration chamber. A sensor system monitors a fill level of the aspiration chamber and activates evacuation of the liquid in the aspiration chamber to a separate container (9) i.e. separate aspiration bag, by a corresponding signal when the fill level of the aspiration chamber reaches a preset fill level. A pump produces low pressure in the cassette for sucking the liquid in the cassette.
