The channel (1) has a wall (3) whose portion is formed in a flexible manner and fixed with adjusting units i.e. adjusting screws (4), where geometry of the channel is adjusted. A flexible portion (2) is made of a rubber or an elastomer having a usual operating temperature of greater than 200 degree Celsius, where a surface area of the flexible portion forms the flow channel wall. The surface area in the flexible portion is changed in a position in a limited manner. Height of a gap of the channel is evenly adjusted using the adjusting screws. The adjusting units are designed as heat expansion pins, piezo translators, servo or stepping motors and position systems. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a method for discharging a fluent mass (2) a method for controlling an amount or a thickness of a fluent mass.
