The battery (1) has a stack (3) of battery cells (2), which are formed in closed flat cells with an isolating sheathing and electrical poles. The stack is stacked of an intermediate plate, which is connected with one of the poles of the flat cells. A flexible intermediate layer is arranged between the plate and the battery cells. The battery cells are designed such that the electrochemical active materials are welded into film. The plate is projected transverse to the stacking direction over a thickest region of the battery cells, and made of aluminum, copper or copper-beryllium-alloy.
