The single cell (Z) comprises an electrode stack (8) arranged inside a cell housing, which has two electrically and thermally conducting parallely oppositely arranged sheathing plates (1, 2) and an electrically insulating frame (7) arranged between the sheathing plates and circulating at the edge side, where the pole contacts (9) of the electrode stack are electrically conductively connected with the sheathing plates. The frame consists of thermoplastic material and comprises two counteractive frame elements that are arranged opposite to each other. The single cell (Z) comprises an electrode stack (8) arranged inside a cell housing, which has two electrically and thermally conducting parallely oppositely arranged sheathing plates (1, 2) and an electrically insulating frame (7) arranged between the sheathing plates and circulating at the edge side, where the pole contacts (9) of the electrode stack are electrically conductively connected with the sheathing plates. The frame consists of thermoplastic material and comprises two counteractive frame elements that are arranged opposite to each other, where the respective frame element is materially formed on the respective sheathing plate and the counteractive frame elements are connected with one another by a material connection. A width of the frame element amounts to the half of the distance between the both sheathing plates. The frame element completely surrounds the sheathing plates at the edge side. The surface of the respective sheathing plate is provided with a surface structure in the area of the formed frame elements. The surface of the respective sheathing plates is chemically activated in the area of the formed frame elements. An independent claim is included for a method for producing a single cell.
