Methods and systems for testing tires of vehicles for quantifying tire force and momentum transient responses

A method of testing a tire of a vehicle, comprising the steps of generating a first condition including a first slip angle of the tire, obtaining a first data set relating to the performance of the tire under the first condition, generating a second condition including either one second slip angle or transverse displacement of the tire, obtaining a second set of data regarding the performance of the tire under the second condition, and determining the transient response of the cornering force and the directing torque of the tire using the first data set and the second data set.
