The system (10) has a continuous conveyor (24) positioned between a transporting unit and a storage compartment and connected with an under-carriage (14). The conveyor conveys a cargo (20) from the transport unit to the storage compartment and vice versa, and is formed over the whole width of the storage compartment. A handler is decouplably moved from the conveyor, the cargo is removed from a stack (22), and the conveyor is connected with the stack, where the cargo is received from the conveyor, stopped in the stack and moved from the conveyor to the stack.
