The furniture (5) has a backrest part (7) separated from a seat part (6), where the backrest part is height adjustable towards top over the seat part. The backrest part is arranged in raised and lowered positions. A guide e.g. rail guide, and a lifting mechanism are provided for height adjustment of the backrest part. The backrest part is vertically adjusted by a lifting movement. The seat part extends under the backrest part. The backrest part is moved from a lower seat position into a raised, lockable sleeping position.
