The device (10) has a wall structure (12) extending along a wall structure axle (14). The wall structure comprises two side walls (16, 18) that are arranged one behind the other with respect to the wall structure axle in a vertical crash direction (20). An additional element (30) is arranged between the walls and comprises an anisotropic fiber structure that is oriented parallel to the crash direction. The additional element is made of fiber reinforced plastic, timber containing material or solid timber. The wall structure is made of metallic material. The wall structure forms a part of a side skirt, a bumper device, a door frame, a roof structure or a seat of a vehicle. An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
