The method involves providing an electromotive drivable agitator in an agitating jar (5), and connecting an electrical connector for operating a resistance heater. A retaining base (2) is provided for the agitating jar and separately titled from a food processor (1) for electrically connecting the electrical connector. The food processor is designed for driving the agitator, and warm-maintaining is performed by the retaining base though activating of the resistance heater. The resistance heater of the agitating jar is controlled by the retaining base for warm-maintaining of food. An independent claim is also included for a device for warm-maintaining food in an agitating jar.
