The method involves subjecting a processing device or a part of the processing device, particularly the processing tool or a drilling- or milling head to vibrations having a predetermined frequency spectrum or a predetermined frequency. The periodic impact on the masonry stone or the blank (3) or the pellet is executed by the processing tool. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for producing a hole or a recess in a masonry stone, particularly a lime sand brick or in a blank or a pellet of a masonry stone, particularly a lime sand brick blank; and (2) an ultrasonic drill for material-processing of masonry stone blanks or pellets.
