The relay (1) has a coil (5) arranged at a magnetizable core (2). An anchor (6) is moveable to the core due to magnetic flow that is produced by the core in the anchor and the coil. A damping element (15) is arranged between the core and the anchor such that the anchor is not directly adjoined on the core during movements. The damping element is made of elastomer and designed in ring-shape. The anchor and the core are rotational symmetrically constructed. The core and the coil are arranged in a housing (10). An independent claim is also included for a motor car comprising a turning device including a pinion moved with an anchor of a starter relay.
