The method involves providing an evaluation unit that evaluates an error function in dependence of an actual difference and a theoretical difference for a number of horizontal angles (alpha, beta), where the theoretical difference is a difference between a theoretical reception power of a reference range and another theoretical reception power of a remaining receipt range. The evaluation unit determines a relative horizontal angle based on function values of the error function. An independent claim is also included for a device for determining a relative horizontal angle between a vehicle and a transmitter.
