The furniture has a seat surface (2a) converted into a couch surface. A rear portion (3) is arranged perpendicular to the seat and couch surfaces. The seat and couch surfaces are movable in a couch direction. The seat and couch surfaces are adjustable in inclination, so that the couch surface runs along the rear portion. An electrical switch (4) i.e. contactless sensor switch, closes an electrical circuit for electromotive displacement of a head and/or foot portion of the couch surface in a couch position, and interrupts the circuit in other position of the seat and/or couch surface.
