The method involves coupling output shafts (28) with input shafts (17, 18) of gear switching part drives (15, 16), respectively. One of the input shafts (17) is connected with a main engine i.e. combustion engine (11). The other input shaft (18) is drive connected with an electrical engine (12). An increased torque of the auxiliary engine is guided in a traction mode and reduced torque of the auxiliary engine is guided in a coasting mode, during exchanging of a gear switching stage of the main engine for the duration, at which a friction clutch (14) i.e. wet or dry clutch, is separated. An independent claim is also included for a control system for a hybrid drive system.
