Method for enhancing three dimensional image representation of guide wire in heart of patient during minimal invasive intervention, involves repeating representation of part of instrument for visually viewing changed position of instrument
The method involves determining a position of a reference marker (M) in a three dimensional (3D) image based on received position data, and computing distance between a medical instrument i.e. guide wire (F), and the marker using the position data. A position of the instrument in the image is determined using the position of the marker, a preset line and the distance, and a part of the instrument is visually represented. The representation of the part is repeated at temporal time for visually viewing changed position of the instrument in a direction of a target area and/or in the area. An independent claim is also included for a device for enhancing 3D image representation of a medical instrument comprising a unit for acquiring 3D image.
