The simulator has a data interface (3) i.e. universal serial bus (USB)interface, provided between a computer (1) i.e. laptop, and a controller (14) of a pneumatic lung model (2). Two pressure sensors (8, 9) are connected with an apparatus input (15) and an output of a tube resistance unit (4), respectively. A third pressure sensor (10) is connected with an input of a compliance switch (13) or an input of a pressure measuring switch. Electrical outputs of the three pressure sensors and a volumetric flow sensor (7) are connected with inputs of the controller.
