The vehicle (1) has a recuperator (4) for recovery of electrical power, and a control unit (5) e.g. central control unit, communicatively coupled with an environment identifier sensor. The environment identifier sensor enables drive control based on sensor data, where the environment identifier sensor comprises a radar sensor (7) and an image recognition unit (8). A traffic-sign recognition unit comprises a global positioning system (GPS) receiver (11) and an electronic road map (12), where road signs are specified in the electronic road map. The control unit is coupled with the radar sensor. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hybrid vehicle.
