摘要

The method involves detecting an axial position of a material roller (2) using a sensor with respect to a rotational axis (8) of support pins (3) that are cooperated with the material roller. Time indicating the holding of the material roller exclusively from the pins is measured by the sensor. One of the pins is pivotally connected with a frame of a roll replacing machine (1) in a common axis (7). Distance between a location of the frame and a region of the material roller that is out of the frame is measured by the sensor.
