The plate (1) has a layer (S1) for deflection of a shot projectile and composed of shaped bodies (2) that are arranged next to one other. The shaped bodies are formed as bars with side surfaces (4, 5) and end faces (6, 7). The bars are partially set together without gaps over the side surfaces and edges. A longitudinal axis (8) of the bars is arranged relative to a plumb-line (L) on a base area (GF) of the composite plate in two planes that are perpendicular to each other and arranged at an angle.
