The arrangement has a roof panel element (24) formed as a lightweight sandwich panel with two metallic cover layers and an intermediate layer made of plastic. A set of retaining elements (26) is fastened to the roof panel element and a body (10) of a motor vehicle i.e. passenger car. An adhesive bead (42) is provided between the roof panel element and the body of the motor vehicle. A fastening element i.e. screw element, is welded at the retaining elements. The retaining elements are connected with the roof panel element by punching rivet joints and with the body by screw connections. An independent claim is also included for a method for arranging a roof module at a body of a motor vehicle.
