An independent claim is included for coloring and optionally simultaneous brightening of keratin fibers, preferably human hair, comprising optionally applying a pretreatment agent-M1 on the fiber, applying an agent-M2 on the fiber, where optionally applying an agent-M3 before applying the agent-M2, rinsing the agent-M2 after a period of 5-30 minutes from the fiber, and optionally applying an aftertreatment agent-M4 on the fiber and rinsing the fiber after an exposure of few minutes, where at least one of the agents M1, M2 and M3 is the composition.
