Binding flat, flexible substrates to non-flexible substrates comprises applying an adhesive to the flexible substrate, and adhering the flexible substrate coated with adhesive to the non-flexible substrate, where the adhesive used for the binding contains 0.0001-0.1 mole of carbodiimide groups for 100 g of adhesive, calculated on a solvent-free adhesive, where the compounds of the adhesive, exhibiting carbodiimide groups, contains urea groups, and this urea groups are prepared by hydrolysis of isocyanate groups containing carbodiimide compounds. Binding flat, flexible substrates to non-flexible substrates, comprises applying an adhesive to the flexible substrate, and adhering the flexible substrate coated with adhesive to the non-flexible substrate, where the adhesive used for the binding contains 0.0001-0.1 mole of carbodiimide groups for 100 g of adhesive, calculated on a solvent-free adhesive, where the compounds of the adhesive, exhibiting carbodiimide groups, contains urea groups, and this urea groups are prepared by hydrolysis of isocyanate groups containing carbodiimide compounds or by reaction of isocyanate groups containing carbodiimide compounds with non-polymer, acid group-free amine compounds. Independent claims are included for: (1) a non-flexible substrate coated with flat, flexible substrates, obtained by the above process; and (2) flexible substrates made of at least one flexible support and an adhesive coating.
