The fastener (1) has a retainer arranging a detection unit (2) i.e. sensor, of an adaptive cruise control system. Fastening elements (1.3, 1.4) are fastened to a carcass structure of a vehicle, where one of the fastening elements i.e. folded bent, is designed such that another fastening element is deformed at the detection unit during impact of a pedestrian. The fastener is made of plastic, metal and/or fiber composite plastic. A gap is formed between the carcass structure and the detection unit.
