The method involves detecting driven or partial travel distance and computing price of transportation by a taxi meter device (16). The to-be-paid price of transportation is displayed in display panel (11a) of a display area (10) located at position readable from the position of driver's seat. The display contents of individual car facility (17) are displayed in separate display panels (11b,11c) which are arranged one above the other in a virtual framework. The width of display panels is set constant such that width of display area is not exceeded preset value.
