The device has a cover (4) displaceable along a rail (3) by an electrical drive e.g. rollers (7, 8), hauling rope (9) and drive module(11), where the rail is attached at a building wall (1) via a window or door opening (2). The electrical drive is operated without cable wiring to an inner side of a building and is remote controlled by radio from the inner side of the building. The electrical drive is operable by a battery that is recharged by a solar element. A motor/transmission unit, a control device with a radio receiver unit and the battery are assembled together in a drive module.
