Producing semi-finished work pieces or components made of composite materials of powdered materials, comprises (i) grinding and mixing at least two components by a high kinetic process to form a mixture, and (ii) further processing the mixture by at least one shaping method. The method is carried out without processing intermediate step between the steps (i) and (ii). At least one component of the powder comprises an organic material e.g. wood as a main component. An independent claim is also included for a material produced by the above mentioned method.
