The device (1) has an electrical conductive fusion element (5) preventing electrical current flow in a high volt line during occurrence of defined overpower. The fusion element is designed as a flexible conduit or a strand consisting of individual wires. The fusion element is made of copper and is extended into a bolt-shaped housing (2) between a front side (3) and another front side (4) of the housing, where the latter side lies opposite to the former front side. The housing is made of electrically insulating material, and the fusion element is formed with two meander loops. An independent claim is also included for a motor car comprising a safety device.
