The system has a receiver provided to a vehicle for receiving an emergency signal and integrated into a sound reproduction device. Sound intensity of the sound reproduction device is lowered while receiving the emergency signal that is a sound signal. The receiver is designed as a microphone with attached sound identification, which recognizes the sound signal, and controls the lowering of sound intensity. A signaling device comprises a transmitter integrated into a siren and sending the emergency signal received from the receiver for the activated siren. An independent claim is also included for a method for automatic lowering of sound intensity of an activated sound reproduction device provided in a vehicle.
