The method involves detecting a reference point which characterizes a position of a door inner cover part to be mounted relative to a body (12). Another reference point is detected to characterize a position of a cockpit-module part to be mounted relative to the body. A correction value is determined for compensation of the deviation between actual-relation and target-relation of reference points. An independent claim is also included for a measuring device for mounting cockpit-module part of a passenger car.
