The module (1) has a cabinet provided with low and high temperature layers (101, 103) and a cylindrical through hole (104). A power generation element (20) comprises thermoelectric materials e.g. p-type semiconductor or n-type-semiconductor materials, which are stacked such that current flows into the power generation element in direction. The power generation element is formed in the through hole such that opposite ends of the thermoelectric materials are positioned at the temperature layers. A heat insulating layer (102) is provided between the temperature layers. An independent claim is also included for a power generating apparatus comprising a thermoelectric module.
