This invention provides a method and a device for increasing reliability of LMP control channel including: a LMP protocol process unit detects the state of a control channel corresponding to the received LMP message, if it' s a usable channel, then the HelloDeadInterval timer is updated and restored, if not, then the LMP protocol unit processes said LMP message. This invention also provides a device for increasing reliability of the LMP control channel including a LMP message receiving controller, a LMP protocol process unit, a HelloDeadInterval timer, a HelloInterval timer and a transmission timer of LMP messages.
