The present invention relates to an aluminum alloy al - mg, which has a high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to corrosion and which is well suited to the welding. This alloy contains, in percentages by weight, 3,5 to 6,0% of magnesium, 0,4 to 1,2% of manganese, less than 0,5% of iron, less than 0,5% of silicon, less than 0,15% of copper, less than 0,5% of zirconium, of 0,3% of chromium, 0,03 to 0,2% of titanium, 0,1 to 0,3%, scandium, 0,2 to 0,65% of zinc, less than 0,5% of lithium, and less than 0,4% of silver, as well as, optionally, one or more of the elements forming the following dispersoids, each in a proportion lower than 0,5%: erbium, yttrium, hafnium and vanadium, the elements and impurities accidentally present, each in a proportion of less than 0,05%, for a total proportion of less than 0,15%, and the complement to 100% of aluminum. The present invention also relates to products in such an alloy of aluminum, in particular of the parts of the aircraft, ship or road or rail vehicle.
