Method and system of desaturation of the inertia wheels of a spacecraft

The process of desaturation of the inertia wheels of a spacecraft consists of: - to be measured periodically, the angular speed of each wheel of inertia, -, for each measurement of speed, in calculating a vector onboard kinetic moment h accumulated in the wheels and deduce therefrom a module h of a difference between the vector onboard kinetic moment h accumulated in the wheels and an onboard kinetic moment vector of reference h - to compare the module h of the difference with a threshold value hs, - when the module h of the difference is greater than the threshold value hs, to take a decision (10) on the triggering of a tilting control allowing the desaturation of the wheels, and then to trigger an automatic operation (30) of the tilting of the spacecraft in rotation by a predetermined angle about the aiming axis z, the axis z remaining fixed. Application to the field of the satellites or interplanetary probes.
