The agglomerated weld flow formed of granules, comprises mineral components, and an indicator compound (0.5-3 mass%) having a moisture sensitivity equivalent to the flow. The staining of the indicator compound changes according to the presence of given amount of moisture. The indicator compound is a mixture of granular particles of the flow and the moisture compound. The indicator compound changes the color before water absorption by the flow thus lead to a transfer of diffusible hydrogen of 5 ml/100 g of deposited metal. Independent claims are included for: (1) a method for submerged arc welding using agglomerated weld flow; and (2) a method for determining or verifying the presence of moisture in the agglomerated weld flow.
