The method involves storing information by a user in an interface e.g. Java(RTM: object-oriented programming language) applet, for transmission of the information to a virtual payment card server (5). A virtual payment card is instantaneously generated from the information by the virtual payment card server. The virtual payment card is transmitted to the user from the interface loaded into a memory unit of a client terminal (1) and connected to the virtual payment card server, where a communication unit (8) is arranged between the terminal and a payment server (15). An independent claim is also included for a system for transaction between a client terminal and a payment server.
