The method involves sucking chemical treatment gas contained in a sterilization autoclave (12), and destructing a component i.e. ethyleneoxide, of sucked chemical treatment gas. Sucked chemical treatment gas is stored in a storage tank (18) before destruction step, where the storage tank defines inner storage volume that is increased during storage step, and is decreased during destruction step. An independent claim is also included for a sterilization autoclave emptying device comprising a tank with a cistern that is provided with flexible walls sealed against gas, and is formed in a complex of assembled layers made of polyamide, polyethylene, aluminum or PVC.
