The method involves measuring a generated frequential response, in a position, by a sound source. A set of produced simulated frequential responses is determined while considering respective set of absorption profiles associated with a wall part, where the simulated responses are determined by extrapolation from a set of responses precalculated by a digital modeling unit. An absorption profile for which the simulated responses are close to the measured response is determined. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for determining an absorption profile in a wall part of a room (2) a computer program comprising instructions for implementation of a absorption profile determining method.
