The device (1) has two hinges pivoting along same axis and axially spaced from each other. An independent elongated support comprises two axially spaced parts that are connected to a suspension arm (2) by corresponding pivots to form the hinges of the suspension arm. The support includes fixing units i.e. clamping screws, fixed on a body of a motor vehicle, where the support is made of punched sheet. The support comprises a constant U section on its entire length. The section is formed by a flat bottom surrounded by two wings. The flat bottom comprises bores for receiving the clamping screws. An independent claim is also included for a method for assembling a suspension arm on a body of a motor vehicle.
