The device (1) has a manipulator comprising a displacement unit that displaces a lance tube (2) and a lance head (3) along a guide rail (5), where the tube is made of shape memory super-elastic alloy. The displacement unit comprises a coil (4) that is arranged outside of an external envelope (11) of a heat exchanger, and a side of end of the tube is wound around the coil, where another end of the tube is connected with the lance head by metal-metal connection. The alloy is titanium, nickel, brass, aluminum and copper alloys. An independent claim is also included for a method for introducing and displacing a lance head between a bundle of tubes and a heat exchanger.
