The binding (1) has a junction unit (200) whose front end is pivoted with respect to a transversal axis of a ski. A lever (611) of a mechanism (600) is pivoted with respect to a vertical axle (610) of the ski, and has two actuating surfaces (612, 615). A gripping unit is integrated to a rear base (100), and is driven by the lever for fixing the junction unit with the rear base in a pivoting position of the lever and for releasing the junction unit from the rear base in another pivoting position of the lever. Two cams are shifted axially compared to each other.
