The console (1) has a base with a rigid reinforcement (12) comprising locking and unlocking units e.g. locking and unlocking fingers (18), to fix the console on a base plate and to release the console from the base plate. A pull knob (20) is located in upper half of the console and accessible from outer side of the console. A cable connects the pull knob to the unlocking units such that traction on the pull knob actuates the unlocking units. The cable slides in a sheath maintained along rigid/flexible side walls (3) of the console. A transport handle extends from the console to the base plate.
