The display (1) has an index (2) and a display section (3) that is associated in total correspondence with a measuring section (5) in which quantity changes. The index is movable with respect to the display section so as to display an instantaneous value (4) of a quantity relative to the measuring section, where the measuring section is variable. Another index (2') is fixed with the display section to display a particular value (7) e.g. displayed quantity regulation limiting value, of the displayed quantity in relation to the instantaneous value. The display section is angular dial or mobile rectilinear ruler. One of the indexes is a radial hand or fixed reference mark.
